My paintings conservation studio is located in the central Cotswolds, one and a quarter hours by train from London. I am able to collect/arrange transport or visit throughout the UK.
I have experience of working on paintings from the 13th to 20th century on a range of supports - canvas, wooden panel, copper and glass - and in a range of media, including oil, tempera and acrylic
I can offer a range of services from preventative conservation measures to full restoration treatments. Condition surveys of collections can be made and consultancy advice given concerning long term care. Condition reports can also be made for paintings prior to acquisistion and for insurance claims.
I have work experience in public instituations both abroad and in the UK; in churches, commercial studios for the London art market, art fairs, and for private clients.
Full written and photographic documentation of the treatment process is made for each painting. Extended reports for church and community grant applications can also be taken on. My aim is to achieve the highest level of work practice and be fully accountable at every stage of the work process by keeping to the code of ethics set out by the UK Institute of Conservation and by maintaining professional development.
